Miracle is a very appropriate name for a horse that has survived such terrible cruelty.

Her owner decided he no longer wanted her so he sent her to be slaughtered. The man who picked her up couldn’t find the person he needed to do the job he needed so he decided to kill her himself.

He drove her to the desert and tried to put the horse down by shooting her in the head. He fired 6 shots, all of which failed to kill her.

Amazingly Miracle escaped and ran to a nearby property where the residents got help.

After several months of treatment, 20 year old Miracle was transferred to a horse shelter in New Mexico where she is available for adoption. She has vision and hearing problems but it otherwise healthy.

The man who shot Miracle has been charged with animal cruelty.
