Two Horses Shot in Deliberately in Eyes
A 16.1hh Clydesdale cob and a miniature Shetland have become the latest victims of animal cruelty in Headley, Surrey.
Mole Valley police said that animals were shot in the right eye using an air gun.
Both horses are receiving emergency treatment to try and save their sight. It is possible that one of the horses may have to be put down if his sight can’t be saved.
This incident comes after a recent blade attack on a bull in the same area.
Sergeant Peter Gunning-Stevenson said:
“This incident has distressed the owners and the whole equestrian community in the area, which is why I’m appealing to members of the public to help us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference MV/09/242.
