Equestrian Artist Banned for Drink Driving
Joany Nathan, 50, of Selkirk has been sentenced to three months in jail and banned from driving for 10 years after being convicted of a drink driving offence.
The equestrian artist crashed her car on the A707 Selkirk-Yair road in January whilst being three times over the legal limit.
Her defense lawyer, Mark Harrower, told the court that Mrs Nathan had been under major stress caring for her sick husband.
Sheriff Kevin Drummond took into consideration Nathans personal circumstances but as she had two recent previous convictions for drink driving he considered it his public duty to bestow a custodial sentence.
